If it is the voltage reg, mine is a Motorola 8rd2018. I fought this issue about 3 years ago on the port engine and after researching and switching parts from starboard to port engines, finally determined that it was the field relay. I replaced with the unit mentioned above. I just went through troub...

Jeffrey, I'm not sure about the manufacturer however it is not a cat part. I changed the relay a few years back and only wrote down the part number in my log. I do have the original 3208's which are rated at 260hp. There is a lot of discussion about upgrading the HP on the 3208's in this forum howev...

Jeffery the box that I believe you are talking about is the field relay. I would suggest cleaning all connections first, before replacing. You can also disassemble the part and look inside to determine the condition. (rusted?) I purchased a "standard MR 10" for my starboard engine at my lo...

Thanks Ron for the suggestion. All the terminals on the solenoid are clean however I so suspect the relay as I had to replace the starboard one a few years ago. I will check it out. Gene it sounds like you are going to have a great trip. We spent a week in Bimini prior to our trip to the Exumas. We ...

Thanks for all the input. We have returned and did stay at the Bayshore Marina in Nassau with no safety issues although I was told that there were gunshots at the end of the dock one evening. The Exumas were fantastic. Gene we did not stop at Sampson however we did spend a few days at Staniel Cay. T...

Information Nassau

We will be leaving for the Exumas in a few days and was hoping to get a little information on Nassau from anyone that may have made this trip. Some of the marinas are extremely expensive ($3.50-$4 a foot)The other issue is security. From what I have heard theft on boats is pretty wide spread on the ...

It is great that you had the 2/0 wire already installed. I had to pull new wiring from the batt to the bow. Glad to hear that you are almost done. My template did work and deciding exactly where to drill was the biggest concern. Maybe we can hook up at your convenience on the rollers. If you want to...
