Doug, I had a friend rafted up and he put a line on the midship cleat. All was fine, until some guy came in throwing a huge wake and the cleat snapped off! The cleat actually broke and the fasteners all stayed intact. Thanks retman I didn't want to start removing the fridge and run into a dead end.

Cleat replacement question

Has anyone replaced the starboard amidships cleat? On my 1988 FBC, the mid cleat is in line with the refrigerator. Can I gain access to the cleat by removing it? Thanks in advance

Thank you for the help. On my 87, I have the white Formica on the outside and wood on the inside. Viewing from the outside the right bottom corner is so soft I can push it in with my finger. Most likely I’ll try to cut the bottom from the inside and fiberglass some new product there. Should I be con...

Has anyone replaced the rear bulkhead or addressed rot issues near the door track? Noticed water dripping in the engine compartment during a heavy downpour. Any suggestions or remedies. Thanks

Replacing Cutlass Bearings

Hello All, My port side cutlass bearing needs replacing. Does anyone here know the O.D. of the bearing for a 1 1/2" prop shaft with a 6" strut? Two sizes are offered online, one being a 2" bearing OD and the other at 2 3/8" bearing OD. Bertram 33 FBC 1988 Thanks in advance.

Thanks Rick. The helm unit is fine, it looks like the seals in the aft cylinder which operate the rudders are leaking. I guess I’ll just pull it and see if I can find someone who possibly can rebuild it.

Follow up, today I did not use the tabs. 3 spike on board, 3/4 tank of fuel and approx. 35 gallons of water. WOT no chine walk or squatting! 30 mph Seems the tabs were the issue. Thanks for all of the great input. Feel much better knowing this.
