Re: Big Block Gas Engine Prices

I think the 6.0 would be the way to go. How's the fuel economy on these engines?

Big Block Gas Engine Prices

What's the ballpark price of big block gas engines with transmissions. It would be for a Bertram 31. I'm thinking 8.1 Crusaders anyway, I'm sure if the gas engine was large enough for a 33 it would work in a 31. What size, make and ballpark price would you suggest?

Original Sportfish Bertram 31

I'm a long time former owner of a Bertram 33 which I sold because everyone quit fishing with me.It got old running up and down the fly-bridge running the boat single handed. Bought a 26 Regulator which as been another great boat. Now my grand kids want to go fishing and there isn't enough room on th...

Re: 33 high moisture reading

Ken did you buy the boat? How high were the moisture reading? Just about any boat that age would have a higher reading than a newer boat but that doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem.

I would be interested in buying a 33 outboard if I could find one that had already been converted and let someone else take the finical hit. It's not worth the cost for me to do the conversion. Maybe if I was younger and could or wanted to do the work but it would still cost a bunch.

I hear you on the weight down low and I love the way inboards handle. When I sold my Bertram 33 I bought and restored a 26 Regulator Express. Regulator only built around 40 of the express models. The reason I sold was because I wanted outboards and wanted to be able to trailer the boat. I was tired ...

If I was younger I would diffidently consider doing a conversion. I loved my 33 but I was tired of inboards not that I ever had issues. In fact nothing runs, handles and fishes like a boat with twin diesels.I would guess that it would cost a couple hundred thousand or more to do a conversion right.

Convert to Outboard?

I wonder what it would cost to convert a 33 gas into a 33 with brackets and outboards. I know most of you guys think it would be crazy. I thought I saw a picture of one that was really well done but I can't find it on the web. Maybe I haven't seen one. Does anyone else remember seeing a 33 converted...

I would like to have another 33 if it had outboards. I miss my old boat but with all the shoaling in my area, inboards are to much trouble timing tides getting in and out of my creek.

Rob, have you tried calling the distributor to find a installer in your area? I had a friend who wanted to install something along those lines and couldn't find an installer in our area. A factory rep at the Miami Boat Show gave him a name.

Even after selling my Bertram I still check in on this site. I'm not on here much because I down sized to a 26 Regulator.I miss my Bertram but I don't miss leaving the boat in the water, divers to keep the bottom clean and dealing with boat yards. I can trailer my Regulator and added another lift be...

I’ve been through a lot of storms and more powerful than this storm when it made landfall but this one was bad. It was a very long day and night with steady 50 to 65 and gusting to 90 at my house. Our power was out for a week but we had a whole house generator and we were fine.we lost some singles b...

Hope all your boats are ok. It has been a very long week first getting ready for the storm and then the storm. Last night we had sustained winds of 50 to 65 with several gust in the 80s. It’s still blowing but not as had and raining all day. At 4 this afternoon we had 20â€â€ and still raining. The...

Rob, I'm glad you had a wonderful trip. Seeing New York from the water is beautiful. When I told you I would get on the boat and take it anywhere I wasn't kidding. I know with the improvements you are planning you'll love the boat even more. Congrats on your new boat.

I don't know the owner, don't know if it's true but I read that it was inshore charter boat. That's one nasty inlet.
