Hi Frank, welcome aboard. There is a lot of diesel conversion information on this site if you take the time to dig it out. I, like several others here converted to diesel. My choice was Cummins 6bta's and I would not think of anything else. Honestly 3208 would be my last choice. Good motors, but hea...

Mine of course came from the factory with Crown Head like you I had a lot of trouble with it and just got tired of messing with it. I replaced it with a Raritan manual pump head and now I am thinking of converting back to an electric.

Electric Head

Does anyone have a good working Raritan Crown Head or other electric head "take out" for sale? I know some of you switched to vacuflush systems. Raritan makes an electric conversion kit that looks like it might be a good way to go. Has anybody used that kit? The way it works is you through...

My '77 FBC does not have any wires in the wall where the shower controls are. They must have been added by a previous owner. You can get a shower drain box from most any marine supply store they usually come with a standard Rule pump. You sould keep the swower drain out of the bilge water, that soap...

I don't know if any one has tried that or not. Some of the guys here will know how it would work. Depending on the size of the tank I think it really upset the balance of the boat. You could really create a handling problem by doing that especially in a following sea.

I have not had any wires burn on my '77 but I have had several of the blade connections break one side off and lose connection. The age and heat seems to make them britle. It is diffently some thing to watch.

Thanks for the input, the short wall Port side is not mush I fixed it a few years ago. The long side is soft towards the outboard side and will need some work. Do you think Formica will hold up? I am good with motors and mechanical componets but not construction materials.

Entrance Bulkhead

I need to rebuild the inside and outside of the entrance bulkhead on my '77 FBC, which has a standard slideing door. I have had two opinions about the material on the outside of the bulkhead both say it is formica I think that is correct but does anyone know for sure? Formica or not,is there a bette...

Gianluca, There is a lot to consider when buying a boat...that is for sure. Cats might have a better service and parts network in Italy but the the Cummins B seires is a very popular engine for the Bert 33. The horsepower and size of the engine work very well and the boats perform great with that en...

Captains license

Hi All, I just wanted to let everyone know I completed the Sea School course and yesterday pass the test to get my Captains license. I also plan to do the Masters upgrade. I don't plan to run charters on the Bertram but maybe do some side work running other boats (let someone else pay for the fuel)....

Hi Top Dog, I think you are right with the name Boat Leveler, if you have a sealed blue plastic housing with the pump in the base if the housing, I have the same thing. You probably have a leak in a line at the actuator (trim tab clyinder) or somwhere, and are low on fluid. There is a fill hole in t...
