Re: Summit MSD ignition
Al, Our mechanic wired the new distributors at home and had mixed up which engine was the counterrotating engine. Sorted out that issue, wired the distributors properly and the boat fired right up. The MSD ignitions have been tremendous. Fuel efficiency increased. The engines now run quieter, accele...

Re: Summit MSD ignition
Al,
Thanks for the response. Although i was comfortable that we were on the compression stroke, we moved the distributor 180 degrees just to check. We got nothing having made that move. Thanks for the help. I think we are going to try and contact Summit while we are working to see if they can assist.

Re: Summit MSD ignition
Both engines are popping. We are getting spark. I have checked 3x to make sure that we are at TDC and that the firing order is correct.

Summit MSD ignition
I was having some minor starting issues and out local mechanic recommended replacing our stock ignition with new Summit distributors, ignition boxes, and coils. We did the replacement and cannot get either engine to fire. I have checked the wiring 10x and it is good. I have checked the voltage under...

Re: Engine
Just to close the loop. Marina installed the wrong starter. Got the starter corrected, did plugs, rotor and distributor cap and she's running like a champ.

Re: Engine
Spoke with the marina. They replaced the starter on the starboard engine last week. Now the engines are both spinning in the same direction while the rotors are spinning in opposite directions. I am wondering if they installed in incorrect starter.

Engine
I’m a little confused at the moment and could use some help. It appears that I have 2 counter rotating engines in my boat. She was repowered about 5 years ago. My confusion stems in part from the fact that the rotors are spinning in opposite directions. I would have assumed they would spin in the sa...

Re: 1977 FBC hydraulic steering pump
Thank you for the information. We’re going to try and rebuild the unit if possible. As to where I’ve been, I’ve been restoring annd enjoying the 33 for a long time with no real major headaches.

1977 FBC hydraulic steering pump
Looking for some help. At the end of last season there was hydraulic fluid on the fly bridge floor. Checked the pump. Two of the three lines appear to be leaking where they enter the pump. Does anyone know the make/model for a replacement pump. Second question, I’d like a schematic of the steering s...

Advice on Specific Parts
My family just completed a repower on a 1977 FBC. She sat for twelve years and is finally back in the water and running like a champ. Currently I am looking to replace some interior and exterior parts. For example, the back of the bench seat on the fly bridge is completely destroyed. I have found al...
