Re: 33 high moisture reading

I made a project out of swapping out the engine mount bolts for stainless a while back and was A little alarmed to find out how wet the stringers were inside. However after thinking about that with my freaked boat brain turned off and my engineer brain turned on, I realized that the wood inside does...

Re: So it appears the site is pretty much dead now

Glad to hear it isn’t dead, even if a lot of the old (and valuable) posts are gone.

Today I tried logging in, only to find that my password didn’t work anymore. That is strange but I was able to reset it (obviously)

Filed under bourbon-induced random acts of stupid

I tried to help this dude get to the right place, but he just insists upon stepping on his own dick. Thought you guys would get a kick out of this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2162915 ... 4580572075

I think I’m going to skip this bright idea. The known tendency for pinholes bothers me too much, and it’s not as though I can yank that tank, have a look at the bottom, slap on some magic goo of some sort and put it back. Only place that tank can go is out and that’s a one-way trip. 70 gallons of wa...

I’m more worried about the reports of pinhole leaks developing in the bottom of these tanks than anything else.

I’m not thr least but worried about resale values and I care even less about USCG regulations, unless they actually make sense. I’ll never sell that boat, maybe it’ll be my Viking funeral boat. Except I wouldn’t want that to happen to it either. The lower pickup is something I hadn’t considered but ...

Convert water tank to fuel?

Hi guys, it’s been a while since I’ve been on. I think since whatever happened that wiped out years of posts (what a bummer) Here’s my question: I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to get an extra maybe hundred gallons of fuel on board. Suddenly it occurred to me that I have this enormous 70...

How big are your trim tabs with that arrangement? Do you still have the little stock hull-pocket tabs? I would think moving all that weight aft would have a big effect on how the boat rides (?) Earlier this year I pulled out all the built-in furniture on my boat, and found that I needed larger tabs ...

My next-slip boat neighbor has a B35 and endless bulkhead problems and leaks. He had the yard replace his original (rotten) bulkhead with new about 10 years ago when he repowered. They build it the same way Bretram did however (plywood & laminate) and his new one is again leaking at the base, an...

callinng Frank B

Hey Frank, I would email directly this but I lost your address. I find myself in need of an infrared camera guy to do moisture surveys of large flat roofs. Any advice on how to find the right guy for this? I'm also thinking of getting an IR camera and trying to do this myself... but am wondering how...
