We can put a end to this topic. When we replaced the Carb we used the thick nylon/plastic gaskets. They have 4 hard rubber sleeves that go into the gasket where the bolts go thru. Finally got a stethascope (sorry about the spelling) at auto zone and put on a small peice of hose that was long enough ...

Mike: I thought about the tankless but they dra more curent than any breakers will handle on the boat. You can hook up the engine coolant circuit but I have still found that when we run to the Islands the water is still hot enough to shower from the engine room temp. alone for me. The West Marine de...

That is ugly. Replace it with a good alum. tank and you will love it. You will not believe the end of any fuel issues in the engines when you get rid of that tank. Accurate Metals in Palm Beach Gardens, FL will build the tank for around $3,800. I had them put in the return fittings for deisel if you...

If you log onto Beachcomber Fiberglass Products you will see a custom made live well/ storage/fresh water sinf combo. Greatest thing ever made. You can either mount the ice maker in the side of it or I had the fresh water sink made just to hold one of the 11o camper models that sits in the sink and ...

I know the feeling. I had the same cracks you had after hitting a wake about half way to the bahamas from west palm beach. But, I kept smelling resin or what I thought was 5200. After staying in the islands without refueling for a few days I came back accross filling up when I left and tieing up to ...

Mike: I replaced mine with a heater from West Marine after my wife kept complaining about cold showers in the winter in florida. Don't get it. Anyway, mine sets just strboard on the platform accross the water tank. You can also connect your fresh water cooling to it as well as a breaker. It takes ab...

Regarding the fuel cost issue, Boat US will pay for haul and removal of fuel but does not reimburse for the fuel. In my case I was just glad to get it out of the water and safe before I blew up half dozen million dollar houses. I actually had a slight issue getting rid of 250 gallons of gas quick so...

I replaced my tank in my 33 Convertable last year. We took out the old tank and replaced with a alunimum tank which has been great. I had the tank built by Accurate Metal Works in Palm Beach Gardens. They are doing replacments on many of the older Bertrams, especially the 28's. They retrofit everyth...

I have rebuilt my helm cylinder/pump as shaft seal leaked. I replaced all the o-rimgs as well and reinstalled without ever bleeding. Seems like there is a relief valve in that which may be stuck open and won't let the pressure build. Hynautics has a great service manual that I found n/c online if yo...

Cliff, I just installed the Valuflush system as well. Like a new boat isn't it. Now I have got to clean the bildge and get the oil smell out as that's what you have when the raw water is gone.
