Re: Rudder needed for 1986 Bertram 33
I replaced both of mine with oversized rudders. It was a job to get the old ones out -- had to cut them out (the shaft, not fiberglass). I had the local yard do the job. But I found that the original rudders were so undersized that the boat could not be effectively steered with a single rudder, whic...

Re: repair after storm
Also, you can get good information on www.boatdiesel.com on mechanical and engine issues. A subscription is relatively inexpensive, and there are many resources on that site and even better contacts.
Again, good luck.

Re: repair after storm
You might also check with third party vendors. My 33SF was repowered--gas to cummins diesels--and all of that gear below was upgraded. I doubt that any is original equipment. Personally, I use HighTide as a last resort. Very expensive, and in many cases more modern equipment is available. I rewired ...

Location of fuel filters
Greetings I have a 1986 33SF. Bought it five years ago. 4 years ago got sick, reaction to Crestor, myositosis and 2 back surgeries, 2 weeks at mayo, and 3 years of PT; now I can walk with a cane. So the boat sat... faithfully waiting on me to be able to be able to walk, through 5 hurricanes. Anyway,...

I have a 1986 sf and just purchased a bow pulpit from glasstech. They no longer provide the bow rail for it. Anyone have any experience or leads on having one fabricated? Looking for ideas on where to start. I’m locales in Central Florida and now our local vendors, in my experience, are lacking. Tha...

I've spent some bucks on fiberglass work on mine as well as work on an old 22 Whaler Revenge. I have been around the block on some of it and paid a steep tuition for the lessons learned. Fiberglass work is not rocket science; the biggest problem is getting someone that will show up and get the job d...
