Horn Compressor

Post by lhorstmyer »

Anyone know where this is located on the 33'? We have searched everywhere and can't find it. Thanks in advance.... Linda 1982 SF "Indigo" Hobe Sound, FL

Looked under compartment forward of bench seat on bridge. Looked under seat. Looked under bridge compartment where helm is. Even looked in the bilge! Thanks for any thoughts. LH

On mine it's on the flybridge, starboard side, in front of the bench seat behind the panel. You might not have that bridge configuration, but look behind panels around the horn, it should be nearby the horm itself

I would start where the horn is mounted and work your way back.

Great. We'll look this weekend. Didn't think to look there as the panel is sealed. Didn't seem to be a likely place given that the manual calls for lubricating every 4 months or so! LH

Found it! Thanks for the tip Sean. Looks like the compressor is shot.....membrane is good in the horn. Looks like compressors are about $100. Yuk! LH

Is the compressor not turning on at all? Do you have power to the compressor? Reason I ask is your horn may have a screw on it some where that does an adjustment. Sometimes with an old diaphragm that has to be adjusted. Al
