I don't think they'll work for me ...I still have the gas engines with original shafts which I beieve are 1 3/8 inch in diam. I'm relly just looking for an extra set of props. If I recall properly, I'm running 20x18 3blade props.

Robert, Congrats on the completion of your repower. Best of luck on your trip. It sounds like you're going to have a blast. Your pics showed the engines in the boat but they were covered up. Would love to see any additional pics. When the dust settles & you complete your spreadsheet & wish list, I would be very interested. Would you please send it to me gerard@johnnagle.com. I had two quotes at the end of our season up here ( MA ), but didn't pull the trigger, so I'll be running the gassers another season.

LULU is basically DONE... It was in its slip in BocaRaton by Sunday 8PM on Nov21 -- 4 day delivery From Annapolis to BocaRaton FL Nov18th Annap to Aligator River Marina Nov19th Ended at 8pm at Georgetown Landing Marina Nov20th ended up at 11PM in Daytona Nov21st Stayed inside Best FL trip so far Fuel Numbers below City Marina Date Total G Hours Delta GPH Annapolis AnnapLanding 13-Nov 251.12 2.4 AligatorRiver AR Marina 19-Nov 200 18.2 15.8 12.66 Georgetown GTownLanding 20-Nov 239.28 31.7 13.5 17.72 Tybee Island FMEINASS Marina 20-Nov 128.41 37.2 5.5 23.35 Merritt Island HarborTowne 21-Nov 206.1 50 12.8 16.10 Ive had LULU for 6 years and she has never been happier --- she can cruise between 20 to 30knots WOT is 32 knts. Our Boats Fn ROCK and were meant for these and similar diesels, no offense to gassers-- LULUs 454s treated my fine for 5 years, but any and all fellow owners are invited to join me and one ride will convince you that all the expense is worth it. Im still aggregating all expenses and putting the final Spreadsheet together which I will share with anyone who wants it-- once its done. Remember I not only repowered I also did the following... New Shafts New Props New Dripless Routed out Struts and new Cutlass New Rudder Shelf and New Rudder Bearings New Tank New Quad Ott battery Cables New Batteries New Console New Inner Starboard inner cockpit liner New Autohelm (evidently im the only schmuck to hand-steer a boat to FL 3 times) New Oil Change system Needless to say I will be selling one of my kidneys....Not to rationalize the expendeture, and im fully aware that I have exceeded the value i could realistically recapture, but I purchased her correctly for cash and have improved for ultimatly less then a couple years of depreciation on anything new. And that Cabo35FB would burn 5 more GPH then LULU at 25Knts. Hell, its a boat--- its all a loss. Below are some pics of the hard to view areas that i never found online....

I tried to grab pics of the non common images--the ones that i had a hard time finding online when i was trying to determine where to locate things -- I took these just post trip to florida so my dirty bilge is after a four day 700 mile run sorry.... also the ghetto hose clamps on my exhaust were because the yard ordered the incorrect size for the vetus hose and they will be replacing when back in MD. Robert, your setup is sweet! Glad you had a great delivery trip. Your efforts have really paid off. I agree that these boats are even better with these diesels. Are your 370's the "recons"? Yours & Doug's dash renewals are neat. Did you keep your old controlls & cables? Thanks for the add'l pics.

Robert, Congrats. I know how you feel, what a difference ay? Gerard, Those quotes seem crazy high. Were you adding a bunch of options that drove the price up? If you'd like to talk about it I'd love to do that job and it would be more like the 70K range.

I’m probably going to get blocked for posting too many pix… not this much of an exhibitionist — do just enough on LinkedIn and FB to act like a give a damn about others besides my Family and Close Friends (you only need 4 close friends to carry the casket — anymore you should loose weight). -- BUT I am having so much fun with this its nice sharing it with others who might "be on the same page". Heres some general Photos from the Trip. This my prop with a single #69 Cup on one blade-- the others are #3 cup--- This happened the day before the schedules official Cummins Sea-trial... with only 2 hours on the Engines (Shaft,Props,etc)... was coming off plane at NoWake Zone Rt off the N-Academys trident point in Annap Harbor and heard a huge thud --- looked back and there was a half submerged bigass branch bobbing. My yard, Sarles, and the yard manager, Tom Weaver, kicks so much ass, he had a diver there at 8AM Monday morning....I met him there and drove it up to Millers Island Prop Shop-- they had it knocked out and perfect by 2pm -- the diver Mike Haskell, who also kicks ass, offered to pick it up for me.. I met him at 6PM (40Degree pitch black night) he got it back on...and my seatrial happened exactly 24 hours after the orignal Schedule -- I was the sailing director at a large yacht club for 8 years prior to my real career and passed more marks then stopsigns for those years-- This kind of turn-around doesnt usually exist in maritime....LULU passed 100% perfectly the first go around 3050 WOT all temps, backpressure, ventilation, etc perfect.... We left for FL at 630am one day after the seatrial...Upper part of Intercoastal is pretty, Norfolk is interesting, but once you have done it enough its about as fun as I95 in SC...This was the Third Morning in GeorgeTown -- The Marina was filled with all great sportfish including some real good looking Bertrams...the staff, even the Fuel Dock kids took pride in doing a good job even if just filling. This was just at the mouth of the Georgetown Inlet ... My crew was at the helm and i had just left the head -- at the exact momoment as i closed the cabin door my crew yelled "did i hear that" -- i replied dont worry it was me just closing the door -- He said come up hear and feel this -- we had a huge vibration and where sure we hit something again-- my stomach sank and all i could think about was what i just went through on Monday with the prop or worse... we pulled out of the channel anchored and i hopped in with a mask only... It was only this Bait bag that fouled the prop -- after another dive i felt the Shaft Zinc and it was dangling by the Strut---It must have been carried back by the bag...I cant recomend enough carrying a Ponybottle rig -- I donned it and was able to refasten the Zinc where it belongs... we lost 45min in the whole operation and was back at 27knt cruise asap. We had 1-2 predicted all that day and we decided to try to make Daytona -- Still learning Fuel Burn so we did a short stop on Tybee Island to top off... Heres a shot of the CDI 3miles off Savannah Inlet...Love the autohelm but we obviously should have tested it prior to leaving -- we had a loose screw on the Hydrlc pump and it was leaking but we dident discover for 2 full days -- The unit worked great but when we disengaged we had no helm (FREE SPINNING) until me or my crew would hop down and pump up the hynatic reserve... Once we found the leek all is perfect now. The SOG at 24.8knts my RPM was at 2350 (High Cruise is 2800) and i was only burning 17ish GPH... My gassers would have been sucking 28GPH. Just one last shot of the best looking boat I saw the entire trip (except LULU)... Robert... Congrats for a great trip! Now I can see now why you didn't stop here. Great report and photos.. we all like to see other guys pics.. so don't worry about "overposting" (I just made that word up)! Good trips don't just happen.. they are the result of good planning, quality workmanship, and having everything completed in a professional manner! Maybe you will stop by in the spring? I expect "Phoenix" will be back in the water and ready to enjoy.

Frank, Funny that you mention that, I had a similar thought, but thought you might be too busy with your boat being inside. Definitely want to talk with you about it. Would also like to visit & see the Jeanne Claire inside. After the holidays I'll get in touch.

Robert, Glad to hear you had a good trip. That last boat is beautiful. I also noticed the distance to your next waypoint is 174.3nm. That's one hell of a leg!

Gerard, Any time is good. I'd love to show you how my boat is coming but I feel like I'm getting a slow start. I'm concentrating on electrical right now, next is bilge painting and then the wood refinishing I guess. Curtains and other upholstery work will be going on concurrently off and on. At this point your boat could be in the spring or fall perhaps. If in the fall , you get indoor heated storage as part of the deal.

Congrats Robert.....I repowered last year. I spent half of the summer on the hard up here in the process. It was well worth it! This winter I will putting a new genny in. That last picture you posted is a 1949 37 Rybovich, hull # 2. It's a historic boat. I dream of owning one of her big brothers someday. Ask Santa for one every year.....and for a red Ferarri. You can see the resto work they did at Michael Rybovich & Sons web page. Brian 1986 Bertram 33 FB Cummins 6BTA'S Seahorse Ellisville Harbor, Ma
