I guess I'm out of touch with what gas engines cost. Wow I had no idea that inboard gas engines cost so much. When I think about how much outboards cost I guess that's about right.

If I remember correctly the pre-ethanol days when I would have considered 8.1's that price seems very similar to what it was 10 years ago (bobtail).

I thought I used to see them in the magazines you pick up in Florida for less than that. It doesn't seem that long ago but it's been a long time since I've priced gas engines.

The 454's were cheap, but I'd never seen the 8.1's go for less.
