Tom, Can I make a suggestion? Take a sheet of plywood & make a profile template of the new tank. I made Rick do that on his 85' SF & we found he had to raise the center bed rest about an inch. That was so the wings would clear the pvc wire chases. Also I strongly advise that you glass in support for the wings. The old tank was secured by the glass fore-n-aft & it was stronger than a metal tank. Like every one else I wish this site had not been hacked. Rick & I had posted a lot of fotos when we did ours. Al P.S. Congratulations on all your progress.

What are you going to repower with, 8.1s or the 6.2s?

The motors are 454 MPI motors. Unusually low hours, right about the 200hr mark. Off hand I cant remember what year or serial number. They are in phenomenal shape, great compression across the board. They still look brand new. They are mated to the VelvetDrive liberty transmissions. with the 2.5:1 reduction. Almost the same reduction as my old 72Cs (2.57:1) I have to change the location of the heat exchangers from the front of the motor to the rear of the motor. and then I will be giving them mtors a nice new coat of paint prior to install.
