JW, Moving the Gen to engine room isn't a bad idea at all, especially if you've got everything ripped up anyway. Rework the area where the old water tank was in front of the motors to make room. You could build a shelf and put the batteries between the motors or keep them in the orig location above the shaft thru-hulls. For extra fuel, you could replace the existing tanke with a new single tank and enlarge it fore/aft to get 400gal, you should still have room for a good sized kill box. Then build a cockpit floor to suit. Sometimes having a clean slate is better than working with one that's been mucked up. As far as nosing over, my B35 does slightly as I pass 30kts with anything but a full tank. My tabs haven't worked for a couple of years, I haven't needed them. So I could use a little weight re-distribution or just loose some (the boat too...) br,

My original westerbeke 8KW is still in the back. One improvement is to raise the genny's position. I accomplished this by rebuilding the mounting plate. My genny is now only about 1" under the hatch. The base of the genny now stays dry and my 1984 hatches have the standard big o-ring type gaskets and drains. I did rework the hatch hinge assembly with rubber. So now no water from the bottom and no water from the top and the genny stays where it belongs. Or at least it's 400 pounds of weight.
