Getting new stereo and cabin speakers...

Post by dougl33 »

As always, I have gift certificates to use at West Marine and I need a new stereo and speakers inside the cabin. Any thoughts on these: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... sNum=10877 http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... 0001/52593 Or maybe these, which of course I don't have a gift certificate for: http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/atri ... hp#atrium4 As the speakers are mounted inside the cabin, they need to be bracket mounted so I can hang them on the teak valances above the side windows.

Looks great Doug, has all the inputs, a remote (key feature) and 50W X 4 should be enough power unless you really like to crank it. I don't think you'll need the marine weather proof stuff either, it's nice given the overall environment; but not necessary. I bought 6 X 9's for the inside of my cabin that are just car speakers and they're working out great. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Thanks Rick. For inside the cabin I'm sort of married to the loud speaker type as the wires are already run and there are holes for the brackets. The speakers hanging there now are shot. The biggest plus is that you can plug your IPOD into the aux jack at the front. No more dragging CD's around for this guy!

Put that iPod on shuffle and kick back with a cold one my friend. It's definitely the way to go. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

I also had WM reward certs to burn, ($100+). Caught one day 10% off web order promotion last week. Have on order Fusion MS-IP600, has internal iPOD dock and is Sirius ready. Looks like a sweet unit, can't wait to recieve and install.
