I'm on the lookout for a decent 33 (MkII with the double bunk beds to port) with diesel engines. My preference would be that it cruises at 22-24Knts and flat out at 28knts and over. What would be an appropriate price to pay for such a boat. Also, what would be an appropriate offer in % terms, on the asking price...do I drop down 5,10 15 20% on the asking price.

Joe, I could be persuaded to sell my boat for the right price. Its a 1986 FBC with Cummins 6BTA's. I cruise at 23-24 knots and top out right around 28-29 depending on load and conditions.

Joe, Have you looked at Iwrenn's boat? I don't know if he's sold it. I haven't seen it but the pictures look nice and it's priced right. I've thought about selling mine it's a 88 FBC with twin 330 Cummins. I would like to get a 37 but I'm not sure my wife will go for it. She would rather not have a boat other than our 24 Carolina skiff. Buzz

Didn't say anything was wrong with it. It's just the last thing "I" would buy if "I" sold my boat.

Thanks for the input. I am inclined to go for a Bertram 33 with twin Cummins 6BTA's. Any bargains out there?...I need to ship this boat all the way to Malta in the Mediterranean, so I also need to consider shipping costs ($20K) and an additional 23% slapped onto the cost for excise and tax. Appreciate any suggestions where I could find a decent bargain. This will be the second Bertram33 in Malta. There is another one here (1979) model with twin cummins 6BTA's. There are also 2 Bertram 38's dated 1964, and one Bertram 65 dated 2009. Bertrams in Malta are like gold dust, most sport fishing enthusiasts want one, because as the introduction quite rightly states, no one asks you why you bought a Bertram. I personally have a Trojan F-28 flybridge. They're good boats, but dodgy in following seas.
