Rob... I also raced sailboats offshore.. Newport to Bermuda, Marblehead to Halifaz as well as around the bouys.. I concluded many years ago that if you were going to race sailboats and be competitive you had to be either self employed or unemployed. Fortunately I had a small consulting business that allowed me to set my own schedule. I also concluded it was more of a young man's sport, and I was no longer a young man. You will love the B33 and I have found they go to windward better than any sailboat! Best wishes to you and Traveler.

Makes three of us converted blow boaters. I did a few of the offshore distance races on some maxies but stuck mainly to the one design circuits around the NE. Congrats on a successful trip home! More good times to come!

Buzz, Congrats on moving the boat. I know you'd been contemplating it for some time.

Rob, Welcome to LIS w/ Traveler, I hope to see you out there. I am out of Branford and there are few more of us throughout the area. What marina are you in in OS? We are trying to put together a Bertram rendezvous for this summer. One of my friends w/a 28 id friends with Tommy Tompkins at Bertram and they were discussing dates to meet when they bring up the boats for Newport and Norwalk. Keep in touch and I will get you the details and I would love to see the old 'Buzz Off'. All the best, Jim

James R Noel USCG 100T Master 1989 33' Sportfish Branford, CT Hello, I'm at the Old Saybrook Point Marina. I was just in Newport last week / weekend for a bunch of sailboat races. Boat is performing great and we're very happy. Old Saybrook to Newport in 2.5 hrs. Helps to have fair tide through the Race. I had a fantastic trip home Monday morning. [img]

If anyone else is looking for a 33’ Bertram, mine is listed in the Sales Forum and on Yacht World under Chestertown.
